UFC 84 Will Showcase Veterans And Rookies Alike

Only a few more weeks until UFC 84 begins and so much to look forward to.  Not only will MMA fans be treated to a stellar lineup of MMA superstars with matches like BJ Penn versus Sean Sherk, Wanderlei Silva versus Keith Jardine and Lyoto Machida versus Tito Ortiz. We’ll also be treated to some bouts with some rookies making their UFC debut. We’ll be seeing 6 newcomers in all, though they are new to the UFC their reputations preceed them. The UFC is hoping that for some of these fighters their first bout in the octagon is the start of a long and successful career with the esteemed MMA league. 

Fans can  look forward to seeing a new Heavyweight, Shane Carwin. Middleweight Rousimar Palhares, welterweights Dong Hyun Kim and Yoshiyuki Yoshida and light heavyweights Antonio Mendes and Goran Relijic. This will be the largest amount of first time UFC combatants on a fight card that is not featuring Ultimate fighter contestants since last years June fight night where we saw the debuts of fighters such as Luke Caudillo, Jason Black and Jeff Cox among others.

 Fans may know the name Reljic from other MMA promotions. He is no stranger to fighting and holds a great MMA record of 7 and 0. He’s a fantastic Muay Thai fighter and a very solid Grappler. He was inspired to learn MMA by his good friend and legendary fighter Mirko “Crocop” Filipovic. Reljic will be up against a very tough opponent in Wilson Gouveia who holds a respectable UFC record of 10 and 4 

Another bout to look forward to is Rookie Antonio Mendes versus the great striker Thiago Silva. Mendes has a great record of 14 and 2 and will be looking to show off his Muay Thai game in his debut on the 24th. Silva will be looking to continue his amazing  11 fight win streak and make an example of Mendes.

So not only do fans have a great main event to look forward to with B.J. Penn and Sean Sherk beating on eachother, but they get to be introduced to some new fighters to the organization and could be seeing the beginning of some superstars here in the UFC.
