Babalu Cut From The UFC!!!
August 30, 2007
This just came out from mmanews.com:
“Renato “Babalu” Sobral was released from his contract due to the incidents that happened during his UFC 74 bout against David Heath. Dana White again talked about how it would of been worse had Babalu had an arm, leg or ankle. Still, Dana feels the fans turned on him and said he is out of his contract and out of the company due to his actions.”
Is Couture a Paper Champion?
August 29, 2007
Well according to Josh Barnett he is:
Let’s get straight to it and say that Randy did a phenomenal job at UFC 74 in defending his title. As a fan and a fellow Washingtonian I was happy to see him win. But as for the title itself — it still sits in my house. No one in UFC ever beat me for it, and as far as I am concerned, no one in the UFC can be the heavyweight champion until they take that belt off of me in the cage.
At the post fight press conference, Dana White said “there isn’t anyone in the world that can beat this guy” in reference to Randy. All this because Randy beat a guy that had less than ten fights and only one noteworthy win? That’s not even a world championship level fight, let alone reason to proclaim the winner as “unbeatable”. This comment was made even more ridiculous by the fact that I was standing right there, living proof that Randy Couture is definitely beatable.
“Unbeatable”, Dana says. If he actually believes that, I’m more than willing to step into the cage and prove him wrong. It wouldn’t even have to be for the belt. I already got the real belt. They can keep their pile of brass they purport as the UFC Heavyweight Title and put it on their next paper champ.

Bye Bye Arlovski?
August 29, 2007
In a recent report in the Houston Chronicle:
“comments such as “where else is he going to go” and the contract “has to make sense for us” send a clear message as to who has the upper hand in the ongoing negotiations. The UFC won’t book Arlovski until the contract issue is resolved. The harsh reality is he’s a mediocre 2-2 in his last four and just hasn’t been impressive since 2005. A year ago, the UFC couldn’t afford to let Arlovski walk. Today, the heavyweight division has ample fire power, and doesn’t need Arlovski to make big fights.
Arlovski could look to EliteXC as an option. He’d be a huge “get” for that organization and instantly be the top dog.”
Liddell Hangs With Chris Angel
August 28, 2007
Quite honestly I could really care less who hangs out with who in the UFC circuit but something really sticks in my side when I see Liddell hanging out with Chris Angel the self proclaimed “Mind Freak”. I know most of you have probably seen his god awful show of camera tricks and his over the top wardrobe. The guy is a walking douchebag and to see Liddell around him gives me a really sour taste. I mean just look at this weirdo.

UFC 74 After Party Pics
August 28, 2007
There was no shortage of after parties Saturday in Las Vegas after UFC 74. Have you ever really wondered who goes to these parties and what they are like. Well here are the pics from each fighter’s party. Hell even Liddell had him a party and he didn’t even fight.
Babalu Changed His Story
August 28, 2007
The drama is unfolding and Babalu changed up his story when he talked to the head guy of the NSAC. Here is what he had to say:
“When we talked to him after the fight, he said, ‘Look, you know, we’re taught, even if you feel a guy tap, you don’t let go when the guy taps because he might be doing a Matt Lindland on you.’ Those are his words,” Kizer said. “He said, ‘Even though I felt Heath tap, I continued to hold the choke until the referee told me to stop, and then I stopped.’ I said, ‘Well, that’s not what I saw.” Source
And quite honestly that sounds pretty damn realistic. Give him back his $25k!!!
UFC Tops Yahoo! Searches!
August 27, 2007
You got that right boys and girls. Yahoo! Sports Buzz indicates that the term “UFC” took the number 1 spot and the term “UFC 74″ took the number 5 spot for searches passing up “NFL” and “Nascar”. Not only did the UFC top all sports searches but also came in the number 2 spot for overall searches. And without surprise the term “Randy Couture” has also popped up on the list at the number 17 spot. This truely is great news for the UFC.
